Bennett focuses on providing strong, smart representation for individuals facing divorce and other family law matters.  He understands that when the pressure is on, clients need a bold advocate to help them reach their goals.  He is also a legal counselor who ensures that his clients fully and accurately assess their options before going into the high-stakes environments of court hearings and settlement negotiations.  Bennett is a versatile advocate who regularly appears before the court in nine counties across the Coulee Region, in both Wisconsin and Minnesota.

In custody disputes, Bennett understands the process from multiple perspectives.  He regularly serves as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem for minor children, investigating disputed matters on behalf of the court.  When representing parents in custody cases, he uses that experience to cut through the ambiguity and present the client's clearest, strongest possible case.

Both complex and "ordinary" matters can go up on appeal.  Bennett has successfully litigated numerous appeals on constitutional, family law and other civil issues.  When the client's goals turn out to hinge on an obscure or vague facet of the law, Bennett can craft the creative, forceful argument that persuades the higher court.

Bennett also meets his clients' estate planning needs by drafting wills and trusts.  Whether at the conclusion of a divorce or because it is the right time for a client, Bennett can help clients define their wishes on financial, medical and other matters and prepare the legal documents that ensure that those wishes are honored at the end of life.

Bennett is a 2004 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he competed in Moot Court and was recognized for outstanding oral argument, and where he also interned extensively with the Wisconsin Public Defender.  Following law school, Bennett worked as a law clerk in private practice central Minnesota, and then practiced law for seven years at Bosshard Parke in La Crosse before opening Myers Law in 2013.  He lives in La Crosse with his wife Rachel and their four children.
